OSAC programs provide a platform for public-private information sharing and networking for the protection of U.S. citizens and interests overseas. There are several ways for corporations and organizations to support OSAC programs with various benefits, depending upon the level of support.
Common Interest Committee Sponsorship
OSAC Common Interest Committees (CIC) focus on regional-, sector- and special interest-specific committees and host multiple networking and benchmarking events.
Country Chapter Sponsorship
OSAC Country Chapters host regular meetings for U.S. security professionals from across sectors to discuss security concerns and share best practices.
OSAC Topical Forum Sponsorship
Annual OSAC Topical Forums cover a range of topics with speakers and panelists from the public and private sectors.

OSAC Grant Applications
In addition to securing corporate sponsors, OSAC Common Interest Committees and Country Chapters may request TSF funding for events.

About OSAC
In 1985, Secretary of State George P. Shultz created the U.S. Department of State’s Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) to promote an open dialogue between the U.S. Government and the American private sector on security issues abroad. OSAC members encompass U.S. corporations, nonprofits, NGOs, and faith-based and academia organizations working abroad and comprise every sector in what is the largest U.S. public-private partnership.
As threats continually arise and evolve across the world, OSAC works to keep U.S. organizations and personnel operating safely abroad. OSAC connects private-sector security professionals with the Diplomatic Security Service through ongoing risk awareness and crisis support, analysis and benchmarking and threat mitigation and management training. OSAC builds trusted support networks through its peer membership groups and year-round social events, including Country Chapters and Common Interest Committees (Regional, Sector and Special Interest Committees). Membership is free and open to any organization incorporated in the U.S. and headquartered in the U.S. that has overseas operations.

TSF’s Board of Directors established the Nonprofit Grants Program in 2020 to support smaller, U.S.-based nonprofits serving the security industry. The program is funded by restricted gifts made by TSF’s Board of Directors and other donors. For grant eligibility information and an application, click here.
