Over half of the national elections that took place in 2020 included some form of violence. In democracies and authoritarian regimes alike, violence and threats of violence are increasingly used to suppress opposition, intimidate voters, and erode public trust in governing systems. Private and public sector intelligence analysts are tasked with understanding which elections are at risk of violence and how that violence might impact the safety and security of their people and assets.
