First Overseas Pan-Asia Regional Council Meeting

On October 2-3, 2019, the Pan-Asia Regional Council (PARC) hosted its first overseas meeting at Bloomberg Singapore. PARC’s focus on the Pan-Asia region’s complex security environment enables PARC’s 700-plus members from nearly 300 organizations to collaborate, network, and benchmark on international safety and security issues.

The PARC Steering Committee created a robust, two-day agenda that included an address by the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Rafik Mansour, Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim, U.S. Embassy Singapore, a roundtable by the Regional Security Officers and presentations by numerous experts. Topics included Fostering Regional Cooperation Against Cybercrime in Southeast Asia; the 2020 Olympics; U.S. Private-Sector Detention in China; Best Practices in Traveler Security; Doing Business in Southeast Asia: Opportunities, Barriers and Discomforts; Strategic Trends in Threat Intelligence; China’s Growing Influence in Asia and Its Impact on Business; and more.
