OSAC Hosts First-ever Joint Industry Security Seminar
OSAC held its first-ever Joint Industry Security Seminar on February 27, 2019 for the Aviation Security Working Group (ASWG) and Energy Security Working Group (ESWG) at Rice University’s Baker Institute.
The meeting featured speakers from both industries, OSAC staff and other government representatives including the Deputy Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. Nearly 100 members of the ASWG and ESWG attended. The day prior, the ASWG held its first quarterly meeting at the United Airlines facility in Houston. Following the Seminar, OSAC attended an industry-classified security briefing for the private sector hosted by the Department of Homeland Security.
Thank you to Justin Lamb, Shell Oil Company and ESWG Chair, and Ned Farmer, American Airlines and ASWG Chair, and their Steering and Planning Committees for their collaboration with OSAC in planning the Joint Industry Security Seminar. Your time and talent have set the bar for subsequent joint events. Thank you to the speakers and panelists for lending your expertise and to Rice University’s Baker Center for the use of their wonderful facilities..
